Small things that bring cheer.

Cricinfo commentary:

"Lee switches the angle. Runs in. Stops. Doesn't deliver. Why am I typing like that? I don't know."

WIN :)

Border-Gavaskar Trophy 1st Test

It is honestly amazing how the FabFour of TeamIndia can fail so miserably on this unpredictable pitch while the tailenders can come in and score like they've been settled in there for three hours.

The pitch was acting completely crazy yesterday, everytime the ball hit a crack, it would either take off suddenly or not get up at all. It was unpredictable and sometimes impossible to play. The top order and the middle order, consisting of all our star batsmen got in and got out, almost like a rule. They would get 30 odd or 40 odd runs and look well settled and then suddenly get out. It was irritating and pretty disappointing I must admit. And then along came Bhajji and Zaks. And here I was thinking, "Ok there goes the match." I switched the TV off and went out for dinner. Later when I checked the score, I realised, Bhajji and Zaks made the highest partnership- 80 runs. And Bhajji scored a magnificient 54 and this morning, Zaks completed another brilliant half-century. And then here I am thinking, "Why are these people playing so easily? They're making it look like a different pitch entirely! It doesn't even begin to make sense."

But then it struck me- this is TeamIndia we are talking about. Stranger things have happened with TeamIndia.
