My Nomads Are In The Semis!

I always say, Deccan Chargers play like a bunch of morons half the time. When the batting comes good, the bowling doesn't. When the bowling comes good, the batting doesn't. And when both come good, the fielding doesn't! But I also always say, hey, they're my morons, so it's ok :) Like Symmo said, they may not be the most skillled team around and they may not look pretty while playing, but they're effective. Mostly!

People laughed at me everytime I said I supported the Chargers. Since the first season, and I guess, understandably so. But hey, they've justified their loyal fans' support by winning last year and coming from behind to enter the semis this year! When Deccan had five matches left, and having to win all to enter the semis, most people had written them off. But there they are, having won all five on the trot and IN THE SEMIS.

I must say though, I feel really REALLY bad for Delhi. They're a very good team and on a slightly better day, they'd probably have qualified. In fact, they probably deserve to qualify more than Bangalore sometimes. But that's T20 for you and that's how the World Cup's gonna be too. I just hope that it turns in India's favour and not against India-- the way it did last year.

In any case, Deccan's in, Chennai's in, this is everything I wanted, so I'm not going to complain. As usual I loved Gilly's and Symmo's post-match speeches. And I loved the way the team was so TIGHT and the way they seemed really pleased and yet pretty grounded. Ah Deccan. :) Nomads of the season, no ground to call their home, and yet, fought back to finish second in the group stages. As the commentators said, what a great story.

CSK in the semis. Whew. Gonna be a tough match that. But hey, they both fought so hard to reach the semis, I really don't care who wins. I'll sit back and watch a good game of cricket. :)
